Day 2: Bariloche - Cerro Catedral - Circuito chico -Villa Llao Llao
The “Lakes of Patagonia” tour begins. After a short transfer by vehicle, we got on our bikes at the “Virgen de las Nieves” roundabout and immediately we start our warm up in an area of low difficulty trails. A few kilometers later, we face the challenge of the day: a climb of just over 4km up to the “Balcón del Gutiérrez” that ends up at the base of “Cerro Catedral”. After an energy refill, we return to the trails towards “Colonia Suiza”, an old town created at the end of the 19th century…

Day 3: Bariloche - Río Manso's trail
This morning we wake up surrounded by the mountains of Bariloche and by the Lake Nahuel Huapi and we prepare for a spectacular ride. We set off with our van to the “Manso River”. Once there we will cross the river on a footbridge to start one of the best trails you can ever do! This trail takes you through local farms and forests, crossing rivers while we enjoy riding our bikes…

Day 4: Bariloche - Valle del Ñirihuau
Today we will visit the Nirihuau Valley (Canyon of the Ñires in the Mapuche language), an introduction to the Patagonian steppe. Slowly and through a secondary path, we discover a completely different landscape from the one we had traveled the previous two days. At the beginning, if there is wind, it will surely blow in our favour…
5
Day 5: Confluencia - Meliquina
We leave in our van from Bariloche to Confluencia Traful. Once there we start pedaling and getting to know the “other Patagonia”, the one that is less green, less humid but that hides spectacular shapes and silhouettes and that welcomes us with an incredible reddish landscape. We will ride through the “Paso del Córdoba”, climbing up to 1,400 meters…
6
Day 6: San Martin de los Andes - Quila Quina - Lago Escondido - San Martín de los Andes
The day starts with an uphill south on Route 40. After six kilometers we turn off towards a gravel road that goes to “Quila Quina”, a reserve of Mapuche origin. Then a strong ride up of four and a half kilometers and two hundred and fifty meters of elevation gain begins. Green forests and Lake Lácar will appear and disappear to our right…..
7
Day 7: San Martín de los Andes - Lago Lolog - Laguna Rosales - San Martín de los Andes
We leave San Martín de los Andes to the north, going through the urban area of the town through picturesque internal streets and bike paths. Then we continue through a rural area to connect with the road that takes us to Lake Lolog….

Day 8: Adiós a la Patagonia
You can continue travelling in San Martín de los Andes, fly from Chapelco’s airport or travel to Bariloche with our van (four hours of travel). You can get off at the airport of Bariloche or in the city center.

Tour Reviews
Just finished the lakes of Patagonia tour and can’t recommend it enough. Every day was really well organised and thought through. The routes we did were great, some of the best trails I’ve done yet ! Mariano, the organiser, was excellent very kind and attentive. Met some amazing people and will never forget this experience! Looking forward to the next MTB tour.
We enjoyed very much the lakes of Patagonia tour. Mariano did a great job on organizing and guiding the trip. He was very attentive and made sure everyone was informed and felt welcome no matter what language they spoke. The hotel in Bariloche was beautiful and very comfortable. The support staff did a great job, and Santi was always helpful and made riding very fun. Most of the riding was on gravel roads, but also a couple days with good trail riding. If you’re looking for mostly single track dirt, this is not the one you want, but if you’re looking for scenic gravel roads and a professional guiding tour, you won’t be disappointed.
