At the beginning of the 1900 years German and Swiss immigrants set up on the east side of the “Sierras Grandes” in Cordoba Province.
They left a deep legacy and noticeable influence that lasted beyond the time. Green pines forests,”alpine looklike” fields and mountain dirt roads are part of the adventure. La Cumbrecita, with its Tirolese air is a tiny little town where you can buy chocolate or “handmade” beer. The small wooden houses will help you believe you are travelling along the Swiss Alps.
This is really and adventure for mountain biking! We’ll have uhphills, downhills, enjoy some technical riding. Even crossing rivers through a tiny hanging bridge!

Day 1 Camino al Río Los Espinillos

We arrive at “Los Molinos Hotel y Resort” http://www.losmolinoshotelyresort.com/ where we’ll be lodged during the weekend.
Time for breakfast and a short tour introduction. After setting our gear, we leave the place and we drive to the west coast of “Lago Los Molinos”. There we set bikes and start pedalling uphill towards the beatiful “Sierras grandes”. After 15km we detour and leave the gravel road to get in to a jeep track and from now we´ll have one 4×4 as support vehicle.
The track, nearly a singletrack, is fantastic for mountain biking! We’ll have uhphills, downhills, enjoying some technical riding. We’ll all meet again in “Los Espinillos” river and we’ll cross it through a tiny hanging bridge! Some more ups and downs through pine forests to finally arrive to a paved road that will lead us to our hotel. Dinner will be organized in the Club House by “Los Molinos”.

Day 2: Camino a La Cumbrecita

The next day we’ll enjoy a homemade breakfast in the “Club House” and from its gallery we’ll get an amazing view of the whole lake and the mountains. Then we get the van to drive us to “La Cumbrecita”, an Alpine touristic villa and first waking town from Argentina. We’ll have free time to walk in town and get some of the Tirolese flavors of the town, plus take pictures of the beautiful architecture, to then enjoy our picnic. Bikes ready, we first start riding on a paved road to then get on an old jeep track that goes under a pine forest. We’ll ride up and down and then arrive to “Los Reartes” where we’ll find the “Iglesia de la Inmaculada” the oldest church in the area (1738). From there it’s all paved road to arrive in Villa General Belgrano. Free time to soak in town’s atmosphere, perhaps some gifts shopping, and then dinner before driving back to “Los Molinos”.

Day 3: Villa General Belgrano to San Agustín

In our last day of the tour we drive to Villa General Belgrano, where we’ll download the bikes from the trailer to start our ride. Today we start with a serious and steep uphill to go over the “Sierras chicas”. Just few kilometers after, it’s only about turning back to get a great view of the valley and the mountains. After a four kilometers uphill and four hundred meters elevation gain, we get an outstanding view! There we start the fast downhill to San Agustin. We’ll go to a hotel for a shower and a picnic and then leave towards Buenos Aires.
